Shipping and Warehouse Supervisor

The role:
Reporting to the General Manager, we now have an exciting opportunity for a passionate and experienced Shipping and Warehouse Supervisor to join our team and provide a crucial role in delivering excellent quality products to our customers. As our Shipping and Warehouse Supervisor, you will take direct supervision of both the shipping and warehouse functions and the staff within them. You will work to ensure our customers are provided with an exceptional service to ensure orders are sent out accurately and efficiently. You will also monitor and highlight improvements that could be made to the shipping and warehouse functions to improve processes.
Our ideal candidate will have experience in:
- Supporting all warehouse and shipping procedures, from coordinating deliveries to managing shipping documentation.
- Supervising and coordinating and the order fulfillment cycle.
- Assigning daily tasks to warehouse personnel to assure the effective handling and movement of stock for Customer Orders
- Supervising and coordinating the entire Good Inwards and Outwards workstreams.
- Overseeing goods in workstreams, ensuring stock is stored away correctly and parts are picked and supplied to shopfloor on time to meet production demand.
- Updating stock levels using an MRP system.
- Coordinating and undertaking the preparation of bills, invoices and other dispatch documentation.
- Overseeing goods outwards workstreams to ensure goods are packed correctly to enable shipment.
- Ensuring shipping documentation is completed.
- Liaising with other internal departments including production and sales.
- Managing stores audits
- Ensuring all H&S procedures are followed, and any relevant training is undertaken by all staff in the department.
- Undertaking the daily control and care of key Company assets, to include forklift truck and manual handling equipment, to assure full capacity to operate at all times.
- Refine and implement changes to the goods in and good out processes, to include Key Performance Indicators with measurable results.
- Where required, implement Corrective Actions to maintain operational efficacy, as well as identify and quantify Continuous Improvement opportunities for Management review and instigation.
- Undertaking stock checks and stock takes.
- Leading a team effectively.
What we are looking for from you:
Qualifications and education requirements:
- FLT counterbalance license (essential).
- Reach forklift license (desirable).
Essential Skills:
- Previous warehousing and shipping industry experience, and knowledge of processing shipping documentation.
- Experience in supervising a warehouse and shipping team.
- Strong Computer Skills.
- Demonstrable enhanced shipping and freight experience.
- Knowledge of logistics software or transport management systems.
